NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the
Town of Middlesex at the Town Hall, Middlesex, New York on the 11th day of
December, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. to consider the adoption of a six month moratorium
on the review, approval or creation of Land Subdivision within the Lake District
and/or steep slope areas (defined as land with a slope of 20% or more) within
the Town of Middlesex.
Any resident of the Town of
Middlesex shall be entitled to be heard upon said proposed Moratorium. A copy
of the proposed local law is available for review by the public at the office of
the Town Clerk

Middlesex is a town in Yates County, New York, USA.
The population was 1,345 at the 2000 census. The name comes from a location in
England.
The Town of Middlesex is on the
northwest corner of the county and is south of Canandaigua, NY.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a
total area of 88.2 km² (34.1 mi²). 79.9 km² (30.9 mi²) of it is land and 8.3 km²
(3.2 mi²) of it (9.42%) is water.
The western side of the town is defined by Canandaigua Lake,
and both the west and the north town lines are the border of Ontario County.
Demographics
As of the census of
2000, there were 1,345 people, 521 households, and 376 families residing in the
town.
There were 521 households out of which 33.0% had children
under the age of 18 living with them, 59.7% were married couples living
together, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.8% were
non-families. 22.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.6% had
someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household
size was 2.52 and the average family size was 2.91.
The median income for a household in the town was $43,618, and
the median income for a family was $47,763. Males had a median income of $34,464
versus $23,676 for females. The per capita income for the town was $21,241.
About 3.4% of families and 6.6% of the population were below the poverty line,
including 7.3% of those under age 18 and 9.4% of those age 65 or over.
